Chakras paint a holistic picture of your overall well-being. That’s why in the process of balancing chakras you’ll learn how you and your behaviors push you out of balance as well as what’s your best path to regaining balance.
Chakras and Your Well-Being
Many people think health and well-being are synonymous. But, they aren’t. Well-being includes a lot more such as comfort, security, satisfaction, mental and emotional balance, and good ongoing preventive self-care. In other words, well-being is holistic.
So are the chakras. Collectively, they influence and express your well-being in all these different ways. And, each chakra makes a unique and complementary contribution on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. They work together and when in tune support one another.
Most significantly, they’ll highlight how your emotions and behaviors are tied to your physical woes. This allows you to chart a holistic healing path and ultimately attain a more sustainable solution.
Chakras and the Best Healing Path
Chakras are always shifting. They go in and out of balance all the time. When one or more chakras shift out of balance, they may pull others along with them. Therefore, the idea is not to focus singularly on one chakra but to consider the whole system.
That said, regularly experiencing dysfunction in one or two specific chakras is not uncommon. For example, you may be someone with frequent nasal congestion. Although not the only influencers, the throat and heart chakras play key roles in how your respiratory system functions. The throat governs the ears, nose, and throat. The heart influences your breath, circulation, and lymph: all relevant to the build-up of congestion. In this case, you might rightly pay more attention to these chakras.
However, you would need to be mindful of what else (which other chakras) could contribute to this chronic imbalance. In particular, the solar plexus deals with digestion, and poor digestion can cause congestion as well.
Let’s look at another example to drive home the importance of integrated holistic healing and using the chakras as guides to what that could entail.
Confusion About What You Really Want
Many people find it difficult to know what they really want. They’re influenced by what’s going on in the external world around them: other people’s opinions, social media, advertisements, etc. It can be stressful or actually intimidating to be self-reliant. That is to check in with yourself and stand by what comes up.
Chakras have a role to play in this instance as well because they influence and reflect how you feel and think. Their imbalances can point to where your perspective is limited and could be challenged. Let’s look at the third eye and crown chakras specifically.
Authenticity and The Sixth and Seventh Chakras
While these two chakras are commonly known as seats of insight and higher knowing, when imbalanced or dysfunctional they can present just the opposite. Dysfunction within either can manifest as an inability to sense within, access inner knowing, or maintain focus. The crown can create cognitive or spiritual rigidity, confusion, and delusions. The third eye can cause you to become obsessed with dreams and daydreaming, making it difficult to distinguish truth from fiction.
The resultant whirlwind of thoughts and emotions devoid of an adequate inner anchor can pull your root chakra out of balance, causing you to feel unconfident, insecure, frightened, and pessimistic about your abilities, your future, and even the present moment.
This type of imbalance creates a personal state wholly incapable of knowing, expressing, and attaining what you really want. The solution will not be instantaneous or straightforward. You’ll have your work cut out for you, but you’ll have a path. And, clearly, that path will include pulling yourself out of the dumps, accessing your inner wants and needs, and building confidence to ultimately know exactly what you want.
In general, regular chakra balancing can help you identify the various factors contributing to whatever your issues are. (See my list of blog references below for how to do this.)
Good health and well-being are about being in balance, not just in obvious physical ways but on all levels. Energy and chakra work as well as personal development can help with that. Furthermore, a healthy lifestyle will contribute to chakra balance and resilience.
Balancing Chakras and Preventive and Holistic Care
So, open your mind and vision to your greater wholeness and take responsibility and control over your own well-being. Remember these three key takeaways.
- Since chakras are holistic in nature, they can orient you in an integrated and complementary way such that you’ll be able to address the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual complex that reinforces your chronic imbalance or pain.
- All pain and imbalance have stories behind them. In order for a treatment to be sustainable, you’ll have to do complementary work in different areas of your life. That could mean attuning to and strengthening your emotional intelligence or challenging your limiting thoughts and beliefs.
- If you have trouble sensing your chakras’ energy or discerning chakra functioning from behaviors, moods, and other signals of imbalance, seek help from an energy healer.
Truly sustainable healing typically isn’t quick and easy. Instantaneous miracles are exceptionally rare. In fact, the truth is the only one who can heal you is yourself. A doctor or alternative practitioner can offer treatment, but you have to be open to it and integrate it. In other words, you have to participate in and accept the transformation. Working with your chakras can help you identify how you’re holding back and how you can address that resistance and move forward on your healing path.
